I need some help from any exhaust system gurus around here. Currently I have an aftermarket 4-1 header to all stock piping and stock resonator but I do have a generic straight through oval body muffler which is fairly small and doesn't have much room for any packing around it. With just the muffler my exhaust didn't sound much different but after adding the header it drones a lot but is quiet when you go WOT. What would be my best bet to make it quieter(and get my wife off my back about it)? I was thinking off doing the popular 27" magnaflow resonator and maybe a 3.5 se or SER muffler. Also would replacing the piping between the resonator and muffler make it any louder since I would like to go with 2.5"?
