WILL IT GET TO POINT B FASTER THAN GOING BACK TO POINT A?

There are plenty of answers to that question and most of them depend upon the distance that the plane travelled east first...

The dilemna is, define 'faster'. Let's say a plane leaves the west coast and is traveling east. If it leaves at 12 noon on a 5 hour flight to the eastern coast, that makes it 8pm before landing on the east side(time zones). If the plane were to turn around at exactly the half way point, it would still be in the air 5 hours, but would land back on the west coast at 5pm...See my point.

It all depends upon where you are and what you consider 'sooner'.
